On CORONA-VIRUS – February 3, 2022

After the incidence value for corona infections in our district had decreased significantly at the turn of the year, we have unfortunately had to notice a significant increase in the incidence value again in the last few days. The nationwide development can now also be felt here.

The staff-related absences due to quarantine orders and Covid infections are relatively low in GEWES compared to the general development of the incidence values. However, the negative effects on our production process and ultimately our deliveries are still noticeable. We are working hard to reduce this impact as quickly as possible.

The corona measures defined in our company are still effective and are constantly being improved. The so called “3G”-access regulation prescribed by law for employees (only vaccinated, recovered or tested employees have access to the factory premises) is consistently implemented and applies also accordingly to all other people (service providers, visitors, drivers of the forwarding companies) who, besides our employees, have to enter the factory.

In January, there was another company organized COVID vaccination appointment in cooperation with the Thuringia Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, which fortunately over 70 employees attended. Relatives of our employees were also able to use this vaccination appointment. This measure enables us to ensure a high level of protection for our employees and business partners.

We are still aware that the current and ongoing situation demands a lot from all employees, supervisors, service providers and of course our customers and suppliers.

Together and with understanding for this special situation, we will get through this challenging time.

About the Corona Virus – August 25, 2021

In our district also an increase in new infections can be observed after the incidence value for corona infections had reduced to almost zero in July.

This development encourages us in our strategy to continue to adhere to the defined measures in order to optimally protect our employees as well as our service providers in the plant. As before, this procedure is the basis for being able to maintain our business operations in the usual way without restrictions.

In July, we organized two COVID vaccination sessions for our employees in cooperation with the Jena Occupational Medicine and with the support of the pharmacy "Am Markt" in Stadtilm and the soccer club FSV Blau-Weiß 90 Stadtilm e.V. (provision of premises).
115 employees took advantage of the offer.
In this way, we have been able to further increase the protection of our employees and business partners.

Should the situation change, we will inform you immediately.

About the Corona Virus – June 10, 2021

Fortunately, the incidence value for corona infections in our district has decreased significantly in recent weeks. In the meantime, we have reached a level that allows the measures that were previously necessary to be gradually relaxed and withdrawn in everyday life.
However, within our company, we adhere to the specified measures in order to continue to protect our employees and service providers in the factory. In this way we create the basis to be able to maintain our business operations as before without restrictions.

In addition to the option of carrying out voluntary rapid antigen tests, our employees have the opportunity of being vaccinated by our company physician at the end of June. The response to this offer has been very high and is a further step to protect our employees and business partners.

In the last week, DQS carried out another audit in our company. For our quality management systems according to ISO 50001: 2018 and ISO 14001: 2015 recertification was successfully carried out. The recertification was of course carried out in compliance with the corona rules in the company by all people involved in the audit.

Should the situation change, we will inform you immediately.

ABOUT THE CORONA VIRUS - April 29, 2021

The incidence value of corona infections in our district has unfortunately increased significantly compared to March ‘21. Therefore, our employees as well as our service providers in the factory are still requested and obliged to strictly adhere to the specified measures against the spread of the corona virus in our company.

Due to this proven approach business operations could and can continue to be maintained without restrictions.

Since last week, we have been offering our employees voluntary quick tests on the basis of a monitored self-test, initially two days a week. This not only fulfills the legally required obligation. In the event of any suspected cases, this enables faster reactions and targeted testing.
This was a further improvement of GEWES's existing and reliable corona protection concept.

Besides, we are very proud that DQS successfully recertified our quality management systems according to IATF 16949: 2016 and ISO 9001: 2015 in mid-April. The recertification was of course carried out in strict compliance with the corona rules in the company by all people involved in the audit.

Should the situation change, we will inform you immediately.
